At some point in your life, the Institut Pasteur opened its doors to you. And ever since, you have been a Pasteurian – you will always belong to this unique community in which you played your part. Now you have the opportunity to support the Institut Pasteur by becoming one of our donors. Without their remarkable generosity, the Institut Pasteur simply wouldn't exist.

Why support the Institut Pasteur?

The Institut Pasteur was founded in 1887 thanks to generous public support following Louis Pasteur's discovery of the rabies vaccine. An international appeal was held, raising a total of more than a million gold francs. Louis Pasteur often emphasized how crucial private support was to the creation of his new research center.

Where does your money go?

Ever since, the public has continued to give generously. The Institut Pasteur's donors play a vital role in its missions, which are as relevant today as ever: cutting-edge biomedical research, teaching for Master's and PhD students and continuing education programs, public health initiatives, and the pursuit of innovation. Their generosity still represents one of the Institut Pasteur's three main sources of funding: nearly a third of its budget comes from donations, legacies and earnings from assets. These resources help fund new research programs, structural investments and equipment, and also pay for research grants to encourage talent.

How can I support the Institut Pasteur?

You can support the Institut Pasteur in several ways:

  • By making a regular donation:you can choose the amount and how often you want to give, either via a direct debit from your bank account or by a regular payment taken from your debit or credit card.
  • By making a one-off donation:this is an effective way of contributing to the Institut Pasteur's research and making funds directly available to our scientists. One-off donations are incredibly useful for our work.

There are many other ways you can support the Institut Pasteur:fundraising initiatives, sponsorship, legacies, notarized donations, etc.
